Mid-West Drag Racing Series

Cody Anderson, KB Titan debut MWDRS Branded Pro Stock Car at Gatornationals

Cody Anderson carries one of the most legendary last names in drag racing, and his debut in a Pro Stock car with KB Titan is already one of the most talked about aspects of the NHRA AMALIE Motor Oil Gatornationals in Gainesville this weekend. It means a lot for the son of 6-time champion Greg Anderson, and for the Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Drag Racing Series, it means something else.

The MWDRS Badge will be emblazoned on the side of the 500 cubic inch, naturally aspirated beast, marking the start of a multi-race partnership that is all about racers supporting racers.

Cody, who was 17 years old when he got deep into drag racing, has worked with KB titan for 8 years. He's been all over the car from back half, rear tires, chutes on his father Greg's car. For the last 4 years he has worked on clutch and transmissions.

"I'ts such a special moment to be able to race with my Dad. I've had a lot of encouragement and support, and honestly, this wouldn't have happened without that. Jim Whiteley, Keith Haney, my grandfather Troy Humphrey, my family, and every guy on this team made this possible for me. Their support has kept my nerves calm," Anderson said.

Helping Anderson will be Tamara Langner, Cody's long time girlfriend of 8 years, who is working closely with the team in marketing and communications. In addition Kyle Koretsky, Cory Reed, and Jason Flud round off the crew.

This comes hand-in-hand with the announcement this winter of Keith Haney Racing and KB Titan joining forces and building a Pro Mod team to compliment the championship-winning NHRA Pro Stock program. KB Titan has won 11 championships over the years with 6 from Greg Anderson alone.

"One of my favorite parts about this isn't just the fact that we at the Mid-West Drag Racing Series get to put our logo and our brand out there in front of the fans. It's that no budget from the Mid-West Drag Racing Series went into it, this deal is all about racers supporting grassroots racing and showing support across series. The support that the KB Titan team, Cody Anderson, Keith (Haney), Jim and Annie (Whiteley) and NHRA Drivers and teams up and down the pits give us both publicly and behind the scenes is nothing short of incredible," said Series Director Ellen Eschenbacher.

Cody will be in action this weekend in Gainesville for the AMALIE Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, while the MWDRS will start the season in Ferris, Texas at Xtreme Raceway Park with the Texas Nationals on April 17th-18th.
