Rogers Earns Holeshot Midwest Pro Mod Series Win in T-Town

TULSA, Okla.

Eddie Rogers laid down a pass of 3.863 seconds at 190.30 mph to earn the win Saturday night in the Midwest Pro Mod Series show at Tulsa Raceway Park. The Arkansas native earned the victory with a hole shot advantage of .052 seconds over runner-up Jonas Aleshire’s 3.82-second lap at 198.41 mph. The thrilling finale wrapped up a...n incredible weekend of racing that kicked off with Keith Haney earning top qualifier honors with a pass of 3.756 seconds at 201.64 mph.

“I thought it was great,” Rogers said after his victory. “We had a great turn out of good cars and a nice mix of power combinations. I think the fans enjoy seeing different kinds of cars racing each other. I think (the event) was run very well and if we can make sure one combination doesn’t run away with it, the turn out will be good and there will be some great racing.”

Haney, who also wears the track co-owner hat along with fellow racer Todd Martin, said having 21 racers show up despite a questionable forecast shows there are good racers all over the Midwest looking for a solid event. “What a terrific start to this exciting new Midwest series!” he said. “We’re looking forward to the remaining four races featuring some of the best racers and teams in the business.”

The 2017 schedule is:
June 30-July 1: Heads-Up Hootenanny, Gateway Motorsports Park
Aug. 4-5: Street Car Super Nationals: Anarchy at the Arch, Gateway Motorsports Park
Sept. 22-23: Night of Fire, San Antonio Raceway
October 13-14: Osage Throw Down in T-Town, Tulsa Raceway Park

Mel Roth, the president of the Premier Street Car Association and promoter of the legendary Street Car Super Nationals now in its 13th season, is thrilled to be part of the series and cannot wait until they return to action at the end of June at Gateway.

“We’re going to light up the St. Louis sky when we come back to Gateway,” he said. “I’m pretty proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish over the years and partnering with the Midwest Pro Mod Series only improves an already-incredible show. We think both the fans and racers are going to be impressed with what they see on the track at our events.
