TOPIC: Jr's and midnighters

Jr's and midnighters 1 year, 1 month ago #3285

Can we do something about mid nighters on the return when we run late. It is not safe for our Jr racers, when the mid nighters are just driving around. Just wanting the kids to be safe. Thak you Jim Getzfreid

We hope this is not an issue again. If we have to run late we will keep then off the return road and make sure the kids are safe.

Thunder Valley runs the Jr.s earlier in the day, as other tracks do, before the bracket race starts.
Seems to work well & is very safe for Jr racers.
You can pull in & park, but are not allowed to unload your racecar until the Jr's have finished.
It also speeds the Bracket program up, as it is one less class that is running.
I was told that it was mandated by NHRA for the safety of Jr's.
Whether thats true or not, it isn't a bad idea.
It can be hard to spot a Jr after it gets dark.
It would not suprise me if we did have an accident @ OCTRP, seems our conditions are perfect for it.

Mike, it is not a NHRA requierment. We will run the JRs with the regular program.
