Computers are for geeks, throw them out and drive!
I think in order for something like this to work, since people have gotten so used to racing for money and of course since no one likes "change", it would require a very active Bracket racing director/manager (who would of course would work for free... Lol) because they would have to do other things to get racers to come out, want to come and continue coming.
They would have to make each race special and keep the racers guessing (in a good way) what they were in for when they came to the races. They would need to do things to ensure everyone enjoyed the events, for example provide BBQ dinners for all the racers (get someone to smoke ribs, brisket, etc), some times pizza maybe have a karaoke DJ for after the races. Low entry fees and buy backs for all classes, $30 and $10 respectively, making it affordable and encouraging people to race multiple classes.
They could still have some money races, special events, just not every bracket race.
I'm not suggesting that we go as far as some of the little league sports have gone where everyone gets a trophy even if they never won a game but the way it is now 8 people go home with some $ and the other 40 nothing. That's how it works but if they didn't have a good time, eventually they will sell out and find a different hobby. (I'm thinking this is sounding like socialism and I need to put down the crack pipe and back away from the keyboard... Lol). But there are less and less bracket racers and one thing I keep hearing is that they aren't having fun or enjoying it anymore, so just trying to think outside the box.
Like I said earlier, it doesn't sound like this would fly in Tulsa.
