The X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) is opening pre-registration for the Pro Junior Dragster class this week-end for the X-DRL’s upcoming debut season in 2013.
The inaugural campaign for the eighth-mile sanctioning body begins on April 6-7 with the X-DRL Spring Nationals at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, and includes nine races at many of the nation’s top tracks.
Pre-registration for Pro Junior Dragster for the 2013 X-DRL season will begin at 10 a.m. EST on Jan. 26. The non-refundable entry fee is $250 per driver, per event, and must be pre-paid by check or credit card. Registration will not be confirmed until payment is received and cleared. A special offer is available to PJD teams signing-up for the entire 2013 X-DRL tour, including a free X-DRL t-shirt and a free 2013 X-DRL membership.
The X-DRL will accept 20 cars per event and will qualify a field of 16 cars based on closest to a 7.90 index without breaking-out. In addition, the X-DRL will closely follow a waiting list. In the event one of the initial 20 spots becomes available or vacated, the waiting list will be referred to in order to fill that spot.
The following is how the pre-registration process will work for PJD:
• Jan 26, at 10 a.m. (Eastern): Competitors who wish to race all nine events in the 2013 X-DRL tour should call Trevor Wilson, PJD Advisor, at (269) 719-0041.
• Jan 27, at 10 a.m. (Eastern): Competitors who wish to race a select number of events per their desire and choosing should call Trevor Wilson, PJD Advisor, at (269) 719-0041.
PJD registration will remain open the entire season and teams are required to call in advance to enter an event.
“The future of Junior Dragster competition on a professional level is the X-treme Drag Racing League,” X-DRL PJD Advisor Trevor Wilson said. “The X-DRL is thrilled to host an atmosphere that is both fun and safe for the nation’s top PJD teams.
Pro Junior Dragsters are scaled-down, rear-engine race cars piloted by drivers 13 to 18-years old and compete over the X-DRL’s standard eighth-mile race distance. In 2013, PJD will race under a 7.90 heads-up index on a .500 pro tee.
“The Pro Jr. Dragster’s are very important to X-DRL. These teams represent the future of our sport. We love watching our competitors grow as drivers and make the step-up to competing in one of our other professional classes.”
The highly-anticipated first event for the X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) is about to get even bigger for one lucky X-DRL fan.
The new eighth-mile sanctioning body, which will debut in 2013, is thrilled to announce its spectacular, “Destination-X” contest as part of the X-DRL’s debut event on April 6-7 at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park.
With a first event that will certainly be a must-see race, “Destination-X” becomes official when the X-DRL Facebook page reaches 10,000 fans. From there, the X-DRL will select one lucky fan to receive a huge, expenses-paid trip to its inaugural event in Tulsa.
The grand prize will feature a variety of items sure to make it an even more memorable experience for X-DRL race fans, including VIP suite passes for the two-day X-DRL premier event at the popular Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park.
The winner of the four-day, three-night “Destination-X” trip (April 5-8) will receive a $750 flight voucher gift card from Southwest Airlines, a $200 rental car voucher from Hertz Car Rental, a $250 gift card from Visa and a special X-DRL fan souvenir package that will include t-shirts, hats and other X-DRL memorabilia items.
The “Destination X” winner will also receive a 3-night stay at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Tulsa in downtown Tulsa, ensuring incredible accommodations for what will be a spectacular race weekend. The Hyatt Regency Tulsa, which offers a number of top-notch amenities and services, is located just 10 miles from Tulsa Raceway Park, ensuring five-star accommodations and a short trip for the two-day X-DRL event.
“We are so excited to announce this ‘Destination-X’ event and we can’t wait to announce the winner of what will be an unbelievable race weekend. There’s been a tremendous amount of work put into the X-DRL to make it a success and we thought there would be no better way to celebrate our first event than to send someone to it in first-class fashion,” X-DRL Director of Marketing Michele Beck said.
“We are confident the X-DRL will make a big splash onto the drag racing scene in 2013 and ‘Destination-X’ is our way of doing something big for our fans who have already shown amazing support. With the flight and rental car, Visa gift card, X-DRL gift package and the 3-night stay at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Tulsa, the lucky winner will be taking in the X-DRL’s debut event in style.
“Add in the outstanding racing the X-DRL will provide, and it will all amount to a racing experience someone will never forget.”
